Executive Summary By Kevin Jessup
The Nikon Coolpix Digital Camera series first came on the market back in 1996 with the Coolpix 100 model. This was Nikon's first consumer digital camera and it boasted a whopping 0.3 megapixels, and cost around $1000 USD. Since then there have been many upgrades and improvements to the series, and the prices have dropped to a more reasonable range.
To date, the Coolpix Digital Camera comes in 3 varieties.
- The "P" Series, their Performance Series.
- The "S" Series, their Style Series.
- The "L" Series, their Life Series.
The "L" Series offers bargain prices without sacrificing quality. These are the least expensive Coolpix cameras but offer amazing quality (bang for the buck).
The "S" Series offers you even more amazing features, but at a slightly higher price than the "L" Series. One of the "S" Series newest members is the Nikon Coolpix S1000PJ
If your needs extend beyond just a simple "point and shoot" digital camera, the Coolpix Series also includes the "P" Series, which boasts professional qualities in a smaller frame.
